New Name a finalist for the Realm Awards

We’ve had a lot of really exciting news this year, starting with signing our first outside author, Timothy Moynihan. But our good news for 2017 hasn’t stopped. Late last week, we received word that New Name: The Destiny Trilogy, Part Three has been chosen as a finalist in the 2016 Realm Awards Contest!

Realm Makers made the announcement on their blog yesterday morning, and the full finalist list is definitely worth adding to your personal library. It’s a huge honor to be named a finalist, but especially because the other finalists are well-established science fiction authors with a reputation for being amazing storytellers (and awfully nice guys to boot).

“To be considered alongside amazing writers like Steve Rzasa and Kerry Nietz is an immense honor,” said A.C. Williams. “Just to be identified with storytellers of their quality is humbling.”

Author A.C. Williams released book 1, Nameless, in the space opera series in December 2014. The second book, Namesake, released a year later in December 2015. New Name, the eagerly-awaited final installment in the trilogy, came out in December 2016 to much enthusiasm from fans.

Realm Makers established the Realm Awards, along with the Parable Award for excellence in cover design, to provide a spotlight on the best speculative fiction written from a Christian worldview. The Realm Awards is given in the following categories: Debut, Science Fiction, Fantasy, Young Adult, and Supernatural/Paranormal/Horror. New in 2017, Realm Makers has also established a reader’s choice award, the Alliance Award. A “Book of the Year” award is chosen from among the category winners.

“I love that Realm Makers offers these contests,” said Williams. “They’re awesome opportunities for increased visibility, but more than that, they’re a huge encouragement for authors. To be recognized by a general audience is great, but Realm Makers people are my people. And knowing that my story touched them in some way is the greatest reward I could ask for, whether I win anything or not.”

The contest judges, who are industry professionals selected by their peers, will choose a winner from each category. The winners will be announced at the 2017 Realm Makers conference awards banquet in Reno this coming July.

Congratulations to all the finalists and good luck! We’ll see you in Reno!
